SPEAKING AND TALKS

Fewer meetings, faster teams, bolder outcomes - in just 60mins

Your company is still running on industrial-era collaboration habits, where meetings are the default, bureaucracy is normal and progress requires too many people in too many conversations.

I will teach your people to meet and collaborate like it's 2025.

In 2 weeks, you’ll have fewer, sharper meetings and time to focus again.
In 2 months, your teams will be making decisions faster, with less friction.
In 2 years, your organisation will be more agile, more innovative and delivering what it’s truly capable of.

Escape back-to-back meetings and endless teams chat and regain space to think, create and get things done faster. I'll get your teams out of wasted meeting time.

Reduce the friction of deciding and delivering

Cut through bureaucracy, handle differing opinions and move forward with confidence. Let's make this the norm.

One talk, a profound impact

“That one talk was the start of it all. The shared language, the hopefulness, the new techniques - all traced back to that shared experience we had with you on a Monday lunchtime.”
“We’d been trying to make changes for over a year - but after you spoke at our [leaders] event, suddenly we starting seeing the improvements we were looking for.”
“It was all so messy and hard to know where to start. In one hour, you cut through and created the momentum we needed.”

My two best loved talks

Though I ALWAYS create a custom talk for each organisation I work with so it focuses on their specific drivers of collaboration and culture, there are two flavours of talk that I deliver over and again.

TALK 1
Inspire and upskill EVERYONE who goes to meetings

I will show your people:

  • The hidden psychology of meetings - and why they are so weird.
  • Breaking out of meeting gridlock - reduce sheer volume of meetings and make time for deep work
  • The 2025 playbook of collaboration rituals and 'scaffolds' that enable people to contribute better and faster - and transform every meeting
  • Exactly how to give everyone a voice, encourage honesty and get to what matters quickly

TALK 2
Activate leaders to create a fast, agile organisation

I will teach your leaders what new ways of working should look like and how they can set this change alight:

  • WTAF is going on with meetings culture in our company?!
  • The paradoxes that are keeping you in meeting gridlock
  • The science bit: how does shifting norms, behaviours and systems work in real life?
  • How great leaders like you can change mindsets and generate change without resistance (it’s possible!)

What I know that others don't

  • I'm one of the most experienced and innovative designers of new ways of working in the UK, with 18 years experience reducing the friction of collaboration for organisations - including meetings and asynchronous collaboration like email and group chat.
  • So obsessed with improving meetings and collaboration culture, I did a PhD at Cambridge, researching meetings as part of complex systems.
  • My PhD thesis was described as 'game-changing' for Meeting Science because it exposes the huge extent of factors which influence meeting culture and explains why introducing meeting rules so often fails.
  • My approach works because it works with your people and the constraints and drivers they are faced with every day. I can show you how to design new ways of working that release time and effort in your specific organisation - ways that everyone welcomes!
  • I'm easy to work with and bring a lightness and optimism to the sometimes 'heavy' work of meetings. Get ready to feel hopeful and inspired.

What people say about working with me

Highlights from two decades of speaking

I've been speaking at major events for over 20 years, inspiring in-person and virtual audiences in more than 25 countries. Here are some highlights.

TEDxSevenMileBeach

I was one of the early TEDx speakers over ten years ago, delivering the anchor talk at TEDxSevenMileBottom. I spoke candidly about my experience as a business leader and proposed a new model for making organisations the lean, purposeful, human-centric systems they deserve to be.

Keynote at Spark Action conference

I hosted and provided the keynote talk at the Onefish Twofish "Spark Action: How to activate change in your organisation" conference, alongside our client speakers from Mondelez, BBCWorldwide, Pfizer and MyHomeMove for our 200 delegates. I spoke on developing an Adult-To-Adult culture at work.

Medical Research Council

I delivered the keynote talk at the MRC Leadership day in Cambridge, exploring new ways of working so some of the brightest medical minds in the UK could deliver more impact, more quickly.

Global pharma company

I was invited to join a major talk series for a global pharmaceutical, to help break their incredibly busy teams out of meeting gridlock - breaking profound concepts into actionable techniques.

Ricoh Europe

I've spoken twice at Ricoh Europe's Women's forum in the last two years delivering talks on 'How to be a woman in meetings: a fieldguide' and 'Staying whole under pressure, uncertainy and intense collaboration'
